The association “Ar Pasaules Pieredzi Latvijā” was established in 2017, in order to create a network of remigrants (repatriates) in Latvia, encourage intercultural and thought exchange, as well as strengthen ties with people who live outside Latvia, but are thinking of moving here. Additionally, we welcome those for whom Latvia is a new home.
Our association is the first and the leading remigration organization in Latvia. As such, we are actively involved in various public events, conferences, and discussions on topics of importance for remigrants and those with a global perspective.
Story evenings. Every month, we organise inspiring story evenings in a Riga pub, where several speakers share both their experiences of the world and their insights on returning home;
Happy Hour. Every month we organise the AppLV Happy Hour networking event, where professionals with international experience meet in a relaxed atmosphere;
Policy Matters. Members with interest and experience engage in various consultative mechanisms with national and local authorities to give their suggestions on how to fix the sectors they are familiar with. We are currently active in the Diaspora Advisory Council and the Council of the Public Integration Foundation;
Conferences. Periodically we organise conferences on certain topics of current interest to society. As there are many people in the association who work remotely outside Latvia as freelancers, at the last conference we looked at the problems related to remote work in Latvia and necessary improvements;
Expeditions. Periodically we organise members only expeditions in Latvia and abroad.
We wish to create a powerful platform for people with global experience to meet, expand their network with like-minded individuals, and work on joint projects. We wish this platform to help new ventures or social initiatives emerge among members. We wish to expand the ways in which the enormous intellectual capital of repatriates can contribute to the development of Latvia.
