Great news! Miks Muižarājs, chairman of the board of “Ar pasaules pieredzi Latvijā”, has been re-elected as the vice chair of the Diaspora Advisory Council.

“Over the years, the Diaspora Advisory Council has become a central place for new ideas and initiatives, which later become laws and affect 450,000 Latvian nationals abroad. I’m grateful for and proud of the support and successful cooperation from diaspora organizations. The diaspora’s contribution to Latvia is becoming more visible over time. This year, the main goal will be to develop the new three-year plan for working with the diaspora” said Muižarājs.

The Diaspora Consultative Council is an advisory body which aims to promote the coordinated prioritization, development, implementation, and evalution of diaspora policy. Under the responsibility of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, it started its work in 2019.
