In the first episode of “Horizontalogs”,  we have a conversation with Ieva Hertele, who shares her experience living in Kabul, Afghanistan until the Taliban took over the city in August 2021.

Ieva’s epic story begins with an account of what the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan actually looked like from the perspective of a resident of Kabul, as well as the general atmosphere of uncertainty and fear that followed after. The conversation touches on various aspects of this situation, including the role of the media in reporting events and the response of the international community. Ieva also shares insights from her daily life during her four years of working with various Afghan state institutions.
